An invitation to explore Sam Hains’ dreams, generating audio-visual fan fiction based on his dream world. Each dream is a choose-your-own-adventure: each decision produces new events and dreams. The further you go, the further you drift, towards a collective dream space.
An AI system cannot dream. It has no relation to place, death or fatigue. Asked to dream on its own, it bores us with descriptions of libraries. Human dreams, by contrast, are wildly varied. To build a creative AI system you have to feed it human dreams. By staging AI as a parasite that feeds on his dreams, Sam submits himself to automation as a way of probing what makes us human.
